Lake Accotink Park is tucked within a suburban neighborhood in Springfield, but its location belies its size. The park contains hiking trails, a golf course, 55-acre lake with boat rentals & fishing, antique carousel, picnic areas, & playgrounds.

We suggest entering the park from the side entrance on Heming Avenue. There will be a red rust-colored wooden sign saying "Lake Accotink Park, 5660 Heming Ave." This side road leads to the parking lot closest to McLaren-Sargent Pavilion, where our reception is held. (We will have helpful signs. & probably streamers, thanks to Miss Brittany Martin.)

The pavilion sits on the side of a hill sheltered by trees. Our ceremony will be held in the wide picnic space directly below the pavilion, looking out over the lake. (See picture above.)

Summers in Virginia are likely to be a bit hot & muggy, & the terrain of the picnic area is slightly inclined. Ladies are encouraged not to wear thin-heeled shoes. Guests are also welcome to wear shades. Bottled water will be provided... or umbrellas, if the heavens decide to shower on us instead!
